Located in western Lawrence County, Hatton Elementary is a K-6 school with approximately 350 students and 50 faculty and staff members.

Built in 1961, with our most recent addition completed in 1996, our main building houses 21 regular classrooms, as well as 2 special education classrooms, a spacious, well-stocked library, and a computer lab. Other amenities include a science lab, gymnasium, speech classes, art classes and Indian education classes for students with Native American ancestry. We are excited to announce the creation of an outdoor classroom that will allow HES students to learn about our environment through hands-on experience and observation.

Hatton Elementary School strives to empower students to become capable, independent learners, through high expectations and high academic standards.

The mission of Hatton Elementary School is to foster an environment that cares for and challenges each child. High expectations for all students send a strong message that we believe all children can succeed. Children thrive in environments which are safe and nurturing. Each child is treated as a valued individual learner since we believe that each develops at his/her own rate. Our academic program is inclusive of all students. Curriculum adaptation and enrichment are a daily goal of each teacher so that the instructional needs of all students are met.
